A Simple Guide To Baby Strollers

The Nanny

That world of baby strollers could be confusing. Here is a simple guide to help you get the right stroller for you.

Begin by asking some basic questions. Babies bring a  lot of love, freshness, and uncertainty to the world, and that is as it should be.  You may feel that the whole world is chaotic, and no plan works.

Planning always works if you are flexible enough to make adjustments and corrections. Asking questions helps you focus on your needs.

For example, how many children may be using the strollers? How are you going to use them? When are you going to use them? Do you have a budget you must stick to? What type of strollers are available?

Knowing what type of strollers are available may help you with the other questions.

Standard

For one child, a standard stroller is a way to go. Don’t let the word standard throw you off. With a variety of designs, fabrics, handlebars, toys, and trays, these strollers are anything but standard.

Double Up

These are the two-seaters. The traditional setup tandem. It is long and narrow with one seat in front of the other.  The view in front is great, but not so for the one in the back. For those parents who believe in equal opportunity viewing privileges, stadium seating provides a side by side configuration.

Stadium seating is wider and, in some places, may not be practical.

You also have face to face seating that makes no sense to me. I think the world is interesting enough to deserve attention.

For Joggers

Those parents who like to get blood pumping jogs better than walks, jogging strollers is the answer. Prepare to get your glutes engaged. The forward-leaning to keep your hands in the stroller engages you gluteus maximus, which is excellent.

Jogging strollers with a triangular wheelbase offer greater maneuverability than the four-wheelers. Wrist straps connecting your hand to the handlebar is a safety feature for the stroller, not for you.

These straps keep your stroller connected to your body so that they don’t get away when you stop.

Triplets

Triple strollers accommodate three children in tandem and stadium side by side seating. Pushing a triple stroller with three occupants up even the smallest angle could give you the workout of life.

Some strollers come with a double up conversion. You can make them into a double stroller.

Weather Protection

Umbrella strollers protect against the sun. Many of them are foldable and fit in the car trunk. You can get in the car, drive to a nice spot, take them out and go for a walk or jog. Make sure that they can handle your trail.

The weight of the umbrella, if not placed correctly, can tip them, especially if the wind picks up.

Go Light

Weight matters. You may think that strollers on the wheel are easily pushed. You may change your mind after a week or so. Lightweight strollers, which are often foldable, may make it easier for you to use.

Carriage Strollers

Are you looking for a convertible stroller that you can change to bed on wheels? Carriage strollers are the answer. At first, they are great for infants who are not yet able to sit. As your baby grows and can sit, carriage strollers could convert to a regular stroller.

Bike Strollers

Are you into biking more than jogging? Bike stroller or trailers attach to the rear wheel of your bike. They can also convert to are regular stroller when you decide to leave your bike at home. These strollers should and often would come with a five-point harness to keep your baby more secure.
